Congratulations to our friend Allen Parker

Allen Parker with a bust of William Seward, founder of Cravath.

As our first post we have to give congratulations to our friend Allen Parker. In all our travels have we ever met such a gentleman. His humbleness is only matched by his great intellect.

Cravath will be losing a good man. We are certain his absents will be felt, for it was under Mr. Parker’s leadership that guided Cravath to its #1 Ranking. Last year we had the great pleasure to sit down with Allen and have a conversation.  Mr. Parker was born in Jacksonville, Florida and raised in Georga. He received a B.A. magna cum laude from Duke University in 1977, an M.A. from the University of Chicago in 1980 and a J.D. magna cum laude from Columbia Law School in 1983, where he was a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar and Notes and Comments Editor of the Law Review.

Allen Parker is a partner in Cravath’s Corporate Department and is the Firm’s former Presiding Partner. He is a member of the Firm’s Corporate Governance and Board Advisory Practice and has extensive experience in a broad range of corporate advisory matters, as well as extensive experience in a broad range of finance, banking and related matters. Mr. Parker’s clients have included JPMorgan Chase, Wells Fargo, Citigroup, Covenant House, DreamWorks Animation, DreamWorks Studios, Kissinger Associates and Permira.

The 164 year old company Wells Fargo has selected Mr. Parker as company’s general counsel in an effort to guide the company back on track. Wells Fargo has picked the right man. It has shown in Mr. Parker’s leadership that Wells Fargo and himself will only find success.

Congratulations Allen!
